What does backorder mean?
Backorder means that the stock isn’t available immediately and will be ordered on customer order and proof of payment. International shipping takes approximately 10-14 working days for the product to arrive.
Are the products framed or unframed?
Our products can be purchased with or without a frame. If unframed is selected, and we'll ship it to you rolled up and secure, ready to take to your preferred framer. For framing, select one of our pre-selected frame options in white or black.
Can I order a product in a custom size?
Of course you can! We have access to many more size options than what is displayed. Please enter your details on the form on the page of the product, or WhatsApp us on the icon at the bottom of the page.
Do you offer custom or speciality framing?
Yes we do. You can give us an idea of what type of frame you’d like or how you’d like it custom-framed and we can give you a quote. Example images would be ideal. What are the payment options?
Once you have placed your online order, you can either pay via EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) or via a secure, online payment gateway being Payfast. Should you pay via EFT, the bank details will be emailed to you once you complete the order. The order will then be processed once we receive your proof of payment.
What are the courier fees?
Curatr will waive the delivery charge for art-only orders over R1350 to all main centres / cities. Framed art will carry a delivery charge which is determined by size and weight. Smaller deliveries within the greater Johannesburg area are charged at R92. Other deliveries to main centres / cities are charged at R121. An additional surcharge of R288 incl VAT is applicable for select towns that are extremely outlying.
Can I return a product?
If you aren’t completely satisfied with your product within 5 (five) days of receipt, we’re happy to provide you with a credit or we’ll refund you the product price* less the courier / bank fee if applicable which cannot be refunded or credited. Returns sent back to Curatr for need to be paid for by the customer and packaged sufficiently to avoid damage in transit. Refunds may take a few days to process, dependent on how you paid. *Products that have been used and/or damaged by the customer cannot be returned. Returns are limited only to unframed art.
What if my product is damaged on arrival?
Believe it or not, each and every product is quality checked before it’s boxed and shipped. We do everything in our power to ensure that you receive your exquisite product intact. If however something has been damaged in transit, please email hello@curatr.co.za within 5 (five) working days of receipt and we’ll replace the product free of charge.

If a product is manufactured outside of South Africa, the final price will be based on the supplier’s price, which may fluctuate due to exchange rates, along with additional costs such as freight, VAT, and duties.

Measuring for size
The ideal way is to physically measure with a tape measure; keep framing in mind around the print. The most popular sizes in South Africa are poster sizes such as A3 to A0 - product dependant. Using a tape measure is clearly the ideal measurement tool.
There is a home hack to visualise and measure:
- Get one or two A1 pieces of cardboards
- Half an A1 is an A2
- Half an A2 is an A3
- A4 is exam pad size
- Two A1 carboards make an A0
- An A1 is similar to 60x90cm piece.
The customer is accountable for final selection of size as we can't rely on averages in images. We can however make recommendations to you.
Backorders and availability
Backorder translates to the stock not being immediately available yet it can be ordered We source our products locally and globally. We will import products if costs are proportional to the product.
Art is digitally manufactured on Art Paper or Canvas. Listed art may vary due to the availability of the product. Art may vary slightly in colour.
We reserve our right to offer a similar product where possible, and with approval on a replacement product from the customer before payment is made. We reserve our right to retract products at our discretion.
Shipping / courier information
Our reliable shipping partner, Courier Guy, adjusts their prices only under extreme circumstances, yet they remain reasonable. The cost will be displayed at checkout, from (suburb a) to (suburb b).
A security code will be send to the customer via WhatsApp or SMS on the day of delivery, which will be required on arrival.

Product Quality
Unless otherwise specified, our paper products are printed on 250g Fine Art Paper using state-of-the-art Epson inks. Our canvas products are made from high-quality 270g poly-cotton with a satin finish. If displayed without glass, the canvases are water-resistant and easy to care for, as they can be easily cleaned. Caring for Art
Canvas and Art Prints wall art can last many years due to their quality.
Place the art in an area that doesn’t get direct sunlight during the day as this will cause any item, whether art or other, to fade over time.
Exposed canvases i.e. no glass should be lightly dusted regularly to retain it’s beauty and avoid being damaged by dust particles. Glass on art must be cleaned with glass cleaner, using a micrifibre cloth, and steadying the art to retain it's position and strength.

Can you source a product that isn't listed?
Requirements need to be defined clearly to save your time and ours. This could include genre, colour palette, era, icons, wording and the statement that you want to make. We've succeeded in finding 93% of requests..
Shipping outside of South Africa
We enlist a trusted shipping company, to quote ship with the following metrics: the country, product size, product weight, export duties and VAT, and customs at the final destination of possible. These fees will be in addition to the purchase price.
Returns and refunds
Our products aren't insured in transit. We follow a quality process before dispatching your wall art to ensure the highest quality. If, however, there's product damage or you're unsatisfied with the product, please send us pics and note what the issue is, in order for us to come to fair resolution. If it so happens that the products are required to be sent back, the onus on the customer to return it at their cost, packaged properly to avoid damage.
Curatr doesn't offer refunds but will supply a voucher to the value of the product purchased, less the courier fee borne on us. The voucher will be applicable for 3 (three) years.
In exceptional circumstances, Curatr may decide to refund the customer based solely one the discretion on a one-by-one case. This will be done via the same payment method used, less the courier fees.
